The Winnipeg Jets are among the highest scoring teams in the NHL this season.

On Saturday, they showed they are also capable of grinding a good opponent into submission with a suffocating defensive effort, beating the Colorado Avalanche 3-0 before 15,321 fans at Bell MTS Place.

Sophomore Patrik Laine scored a superb first-period marker off of a power-play feed from captain Blake Wheeler and rookie forward Jack Roslovic scored his second career goal on a third-period deflection, coming after Wheeler's original shot.
