Jets get dumped in Detroit 5-1 by skidding Red Wings

DETROIT – This was not the Winnipeg Jets of 48 hours ago.

Kicking off a three-game road trip, Winnipeg chugged out of the Motor City and headed south to regroup following a 5-1 loss to the Red Wings on Tuesday night.

The Jets, one of the NHL’s most dynamic teams, didn’t at all resemble the machine that ran roughshod over the Ottawa Senators, demonstrated neither the energy nor crispness that were so evident in Sunday’s 5-0 annihilation at Bell MTS Place.

Winnipeg (17-7-4) lost in regulation for the first time in five games, while Detroit (11-12-5) snapped a seven-game winless skid.
