TORONTO — Dustin Byfuglien had avoided punishment from the NHL after his hearing today with the league’s department of player safety.
He was being investigated for a check made on Montreal’s Brendan Gallagher but the league has ruled that while there was some contact, the head was not the principle point of contact for the blow.
