DETROIT -- The Winnipeg Jets are going to be without forward Joel Armia for what sounds like an extended time.
Jets head coach Paul Maurice said here Thursday afternoon that Armia, who sustained a lower-body injury Thursday night in Washington during a 4-3 loss to the Capitals, has returned home to Winnipeg and will be examined in the coming days.
"Joel went back to Winnipeg today. He’s going to get some tests the next couple days and we’ll have a better feel. It’s not a day to day situation. But we’ll have a better idea in a couple days," Maurice said here at Joe Louis Arena, where the Jets will take on the Red Wings Friday evening.
