Heritage Classic jerseys for the Winnipeg Jets and Edmonton Oilers as well as lineups for the respective teams for the accompanying alumni game were unveiled in front of a frenzied audience Friday Portage and Main.
The NHL will stage its first outdoor game of the upcoming season on Oct. 23 at Investors Group Field. The Jets and Oilers alumni will play on Oct. 22.
Former Jets captain Dale Hawerchuk, on hand for Friday's announcement, pulled the cover off most of his roster for the alumni game.
It will include Teemu Selanne, Teppo Numminen, Thomas Steen, Dave Babych, Dave Ellett, Laurie Boschman, Kris King, Brian Mullen, Bob Essensa, Mike Eagles, Mike Ford, Jim Kyte, Mario Marois, Morris Lukowich, Moe Mantha, Andrew McBain, Darren Shannon, Doug Smail, Tim Watters and Ron Wilson.
