'I'll serve my one game and then move on': Stafford suspended one game

ST. LOUIS — The Winnipeg Jets may have secured Dustin Byfuglien for the next five years, but they will be without their top goal scorer for one game.

The National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced Monday that winger Drew Stafford has been suspended for Tuesday’s game against the St. Louis Blues after high-sticking Colorado Avalanche defenceman Nick Holden Saturday in Denver.

Stafford was handed a double-minor penalty for the play, in which he got tangled up with Holden and as he swung around his stick connected with the defenceman’s face.
