It’s rarely about the sweat-equity quotient. The Winnipeg Jets, most nights, are all in consistently on that front.
But when a team is deficient in the overall talent depth department, when it lacks the pure finishers that dot so many National Hockey League lineups, there are going to be many, many nights that look like Sunday in downtown Winnipeg — a 2-1 loss to the Edmonton Oilers in which the home side did a lot of good things again but has diddly and squat to show for it.
