Hellebuyck holds off all challenges

Another chapter in the Connor Hellebuyck story was written Sunday night. The goaltender made 30 saves to earn his first NHL shutout, putting away a Pittsburgh Penguins team rich in offensive talent in what ended as a 1-0 victory for the Winnipeg Jets.

And even though after the game he opted to make light of robbing the likes of NHL superstars Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Phil Kessel, arguably the hottest 1-2-3 punch in the league, he did admit it was a moment he’d been waiting for a long time — and one he plans to cherish even longer.
