EDMONTON — Winnipeg Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck has been named the NHL’s first star of the week after amassing a perfect 3-0 record, including a 35-save shutout in a 5-0 win over the Edmonton Oilers Sunday at Rogers Place.
Hellebuyck, 24, also picked up a pair of home wins — a 42-save victory over the New York Islanders and a 22-save triumph against the Oilers — over the stretch that has the Jets sitting in first place in the Central Division heading into Monday’s games.
