Doggin' it in the NHL

The Winnipeg Jets – held together by chewing gum and baling wire — are back home after a demanding six-game road trip that began March 4 with a 3-2 triumph in Carolina and wrapped up with a 3-1 defeat in Nashville 10 nights later.

In between, the club posted victories against the New York Rangers and New Jersey Devils, a loss in Philly and an OT loss in Washington.

That’s 3-2-1 for the Central Division’s second-best squad, not bad considering the Jets had a pile of regulars in sick bay when they left to face the Hurricanes 11 days ago and have had a parade to the infirmary while away.
