PITTSBURGH — It’s a long road back for the Winnipeg Jets, who begin a four-game road trip tonight that they hope helps propel them back into the playoff conversation, beginning tonight with a game against the Pittsburgh Penguins at PPG Paints Arena (6 p.m., TSN3 / TSN 1290).

The Jets, who are 26-29-4 this season, trail the Calgary Flames by five points for the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference. Two other clubs — the Los Angeles Kings and Vancouver Canucks — are also ahead in the standings and all three teams have games in hand.
