RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Carolina Hurricanes say goalie Cam Ward has a lower body injury and will miss Tuesday's game against the Winnipeg Jets.
Eddie Lack will start against the Jets. The Hurricanes also recalled goalie Daniel Altshuller from the minor leagues.
"If this was Game 82 and we'd need to win, he'd be available," coach Bill Peters said of Ward. "It's not."
Peters expects Ward, who was hurt during Saturday's victory over the New York Islanders, to travel to Ottawa for Thursday's game.
