Far from their best, the Winnipeg Jets found a way to get the job done once again.
Outplayed and outscored in the opening period by the NHL's basement-dwelling Detroit Red Wings, the Jets discovered another gear and stormed back for a 2-1 victory Friday night at Little Caesars Arena.
Dustin Byfuglien broke a tie with 6:45 left in the final frame as his shot bounced off Detroit's Jimmy Howard, up in the air and just over the goal line.
Winnipeg improves to 7-3-1, while Detroit falls to 1-7-2.
