Just to hammer that home further: Thursday’s 4-1 over the Los Angeles Kings — a top five squad that is atop the Pacific Division and looking to make real noise into May and June — came against the grain, with a depleted line-up and after a dreadful first 40 minutes in which only Ondrej Pavelec stopped the visitors from reaching double digits in goals.
