The preseason accolades continue to roll in for Wichita State sophomore point guard Landry Shamet, who was one of 32 players named to the Oscar Robertson Trophy watch list on Monday. The trophy is awarded to college basketball’s player of the year by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association.

Shamet averaged 11.4 points and 3.3 assists last year and gained recognition with a standout performance against Kentucky in the second round of the NCAA tournament. Wichita State returns all five starters, including Shamet, from a 31-win team and has been ranked No. 7 in the Associated Press preseason poll.
