Behind a one-hit, shutout performance in the circle from Erin McDonald, the Wichita State softball team registered its first top-25 win of the season on Friday with a series-opening 4-0 victory on the road over No. 25 Tulsa.

The Shockers improved to 29-21, one win away from the sixth straight 30-win season under coach Kristi Bredbenner, and 10-6 in American Athletic Conference play. WSU now trails second-place Tulsa (31-16, 12-4 AAC) by two games with two games left to play in the series.
