WSU baseball get win on windy afternoon

No. 22 Wichita State now has a 9-1 record after defeating SIU Edwardsville 6-1 on Tuesday.

Sophomore Preston Snavely pitched for the first five innings with eight strikeouts, recording the highest of the entire game. Freshman Alex Segal went for three innings and freshman Tyler Davis for one.

The first play of the game ended with an out as the Cougars’ Bret Fehr was at bat and flied out to left center field, where junior Travis Young made a saving catch.

The Cougars were the first to score in the top of the third. Aaron Goecks singled to left field and stole second then Jordan Ross singled to center field which allowed Goecks to run home, making the score 1-0.
