Wichita State Falls at Home to Maryland Eastern Shore

WICHITA – Wichita State led for more than 27 minutes, but a cold-shooting fourth quarter proved costly as the Shockers fell, 56-52, to Maryland Eastern Shore on Friday evening in Charles Koch Arena.

The Shockers (1-9) controlled the opening half behind efficient scoring and a strong defensive presence, taking a 34-29 lead into the locker room after shooting 50 percent and forcing 10 turnovers across the first two quarters. Bre'Yon White provided an early spark off the bench, pouring in eight first-half points on 4-of-5 shooting.

Wichita State held off the Hawks through the third quarter, using baskets from Diamond Richardson and Jaida McDonald to stay in front, 45-44, heading into the final frame.
