Wichita State baseball hires former South Carolina assistant

Wichita State hired former South Carolina assistant coach Sammy Esposito, according to a news release.

Esposito worked as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at South Carolina since 2012.

“He was a part of two national championships at South Carolina while working with the hitters and catchers,” WSU coach Todd Butler said in the news release. “He has an extremely strong recruiting background and we look forward to him bringing top recruiting classes to Wichita State.”

Esposito worked as a volunteer assistant for the Gamecocks from 2007-12. South Carolina won national titles in 2010 and 2011 and finished second in 2012.
