Wichita State assistant leaving program for similar position at Dayton

Wichita State's offseason transformation continued on Monday, with assistant men's basketball coach Donnie Jones leaving Gregg Marshall's staff to accept an assistant position at Dayton.

Jones is the second assistant coach to leave WSU this offseason. Marshall replaced Kyle Lindsted, who left for Minnesota, with Tyson Waterman in June. Isaac Brown, entering his fifth season, is the Shockers' highest-ranking assistant.

There are deep ties between Dayton head coach Anthony Grant and Jones, who coached one year with the Shockers. The two spent 10 years together, from 1996-2006, on Billy Donovan's staff at Florida, winning national championships in 2005 and 2006.
