Upset Bid Falls Short at No. 17 Houston

HOUSTON, Texas – No. 17/15 Houston found its shooting touch in the second half to deny an upset bid from Wichita State and preserve the nation's longest home winning streak, 79-70, Saturday evening at a sold out Fertitta Center.

Markis McDuffie scored a game-high 22 points for WSU (7-8, 0-3 American) on 4-of-7 three-point shooting. It was the sixth 20-point game of the season for the senior and the 10th of his career.

Samajae Haynes-Jones added 14 points in 35 minutes. Dexter Dennis tacked on eight points and a team-high six rebounds.
