Topham Runs Second-Best 3,000 Meters Time in School History

SEATTLE—Rebekah Topham rounded out the weekend for the Wichita State track and field teams with a massive performance in the 3,000 meters at the UW Invitational inside of the Dempsey Indoor Facility.

Topham won the third heat of the 3,000 meters, crossing the line in 9:16.79. Her time moves her to No. 2 on the Wichita State all-time list. Her time also slots her at No. 5 nationally in the event this year.

Distance coach Kirk Hunter said he was excited about Topham's race.

"She's had many struggles over the last couple years," Hunter said.
