Summer Update: Inoue Builds on ITA Ranking

TOKYO, Japan – Wichita State's Haru Inoue ended his sophomore season with a national singles ranking. Now he has his sights set on the world.

Last weekend in Tokyo, Inoue reached the semifinals of the Japan F7 Futures and earned valuable points on the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Pro Circuit.

Inoue – previously No. 1,643 in the ITF Rankings – figures to climb thanks to victories over two players ranked among the world's top-700.

After winning consecutive qualifying matches, Inoue polished off Tomohiro Masabayashi (ITF No. 1749), Issei Okamura (695) and Naoki Nakagawa (611) in straight-sets.
