Sprints Squad Succeeds at Ichabod Mid-Week Challenge

TOPEKA, Kan. – The Wichita State track and field team claimed six event titles Thursday at the Ichabod Mid-Week Challenge in Topeka.

Paula Garcia stole the show when she broke her own school record in the 200 meters with a time of 23.61 to win the event and set a new facility record. She first broke the record at the same facility in January.

In the 60-meter dash, Faith Turner moved up to tie for second on the WSU all-time list with a 7.44, winning the event. Turner also placed third in the long jump with a personal-best jump of 5.
