Sooners Shutout Shockers in Final Non-Conference Game

WICHITA, Kan. - With No. 1 Oklahoma scoring in four of its five innings, the Wichita State softball team was defeated by the Sooners 8-0 by run rule on Wednesday night at Wilkins Stadium in front of a sellout crowd of 832 fans.

Oklahoma's Mariah Lopez struck out seven Shocker batters and held Wichita State to only two hits and a .125 team batting average on the night. Caitlin Bingham pitched all five innings for the Shockers and collected a strikeout for the sixth straight game.

After the Sooners flied out to center field in their first at-bat, Oklahoma drew a walk and collected a double to put runners in scoring position in the top of the first.
