In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic caused a lot of places, and events to shut down. A lot of colleges shut down in person classes. Not only did in person classes shut down though, it also included college athletics. Many senior college athletes across the nation had to face the frustration and disappointment of not being able to see their college careers to end.
The Wichita State softball team has six seniors on their team this season, three of those seniors were able to gain an extra year of eligibility due to their season being cancelled early last year to COVID-19.
