Six-Run Fourth Inning Leads Shockers to Home Opener Win

WICHITA, Kan. - Feeding off a six-run inning in the bottom of the fourth, the Wichita State softball team ended its home opener with a 10-1 run-rule win over Nebraska on Saturday at Wilkins Stadium.

Laurie Derrico and Asea Webber led the way offensively, coming up with two hits in both their at-bats. Derrico extended her hit streak to six games while Webber's outing was the third time in four games where she collected two or more hits. Erin McDonald came up with her third win of the season in the circle, only allowing three hits in 4.
