GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Zac Owens fired nine birdies over two rounds to lead the Wichita State men's golf team on its first day at the University of Florida's Gators Invitational Presented by Vystar.
Owens is plus-3 and tied for 26th out of 84 entries heading into Sunday's final 18 holes. The sophomore birdied four-straight to start off Saturday's afternoon session on his way to a 2-under-68. It was his sixth round under par this season.
Dawson Lewis (+6) paced the Shockers during the morning session with the first of back-to-back 73's.
