Shockers Win GCU Invitational Title

Zac Owens and Marcus Wochner posted top-10 finishes and Wichita State blew past Grand Canyon and Eastern Michigan in Tuesday's final round to win the GCU Invitational.

The Shockers entered the day four strokes behind host GCU and three back of second-place EMU but made up eight shots on both to claim a victory in their season debut.

WSU (280-292-290 – 862) completed the 54-hole competition at 10-over-par to edge out Southern Miss (291-286-287—864) by two strokes.

WSU last won a tournament with 16-or-more teams in October, 2014 when it claimed the Bill Ross Intercollegiate title in Kansas City (also 16 teams).
