WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita State defeated Arkansas 3-2 for their first win of the season on Sunday at Charles Koch Arena.
The two teams alternated set victories with scores of 25-18, 13-25, 25-19, 21-25 and 15-6 in the third match of the Shocker Volleyball Classic.
- WSU won the set comfortably with a 25-18 victory over Arkansas
- Leggett started off the match with two kills after leading WSU in kills on Friday night
- The Shockers went on an 8-1 run to take a 17-12 lead over the Razorbacks and didn't look back
- The Shockers fell to the Razorbacks 25-13
- Dunning recorded two kills in a row to put WSU up 2-0 to start the set
- It was a back and forth set until Arkansas went on an 8-0 run to take a 15-7 lead
- Wichita State took a 2-1 lead over Arkansas after winning the third set 25-19
- The Shockers went on a 4-0 run to go up 19-13
- Dunning recorded six kills on nine swings and Leggett added four kills.
