Nearly 200 Wichita State student-athletes received academic honors from the American Athletic Conference Thursday, and the Shocker men's golf team was singled out for a Team Academic Excellence Award.
In order to make the All-Academic team, student-athletes must maintain at least a 3.00 GPA for the school year. More than two-thirds of Shocker student-athletes (197 of 290) qualified in 2020-21. That's WSU's highest total in four season since joining the conference, edging out last year's tally of 195 qualifiers.
Shocker golfers posted a combined 3.62 GPA to earn the conference's Men's Golf Team Academic Excellence Award for a second-consecutive year.
