LAWRENCE, Kan. – Sophomore Kayla Van de Ven and senior Mackenzie Wilson each tied for tenth to lead the Wichita State women's golf team to a fourth-place team finish at the Jayhawk Invitational on Monday at the Jayhawk Club.
The Shockers fourth place finish came behind round scores of 306, 307, and 305. Among teams, Louisiana Monroe upset No. 21 Kansas to win the team crown with a score of 879, 15 strokes over par.
In their opening round of the season, Wichita State's Van de Ven and Wilson came out firing, with Wilson posting a 74 and Van de Ven a 75, putting them both in the top ten through the opening round.
