IRVINE, Calif. – Despite a strong start and a late push in the fourth quarter, Wichita State couldn't keep up with a fast-paced Idaho squad Saturday afternoon, falling 83-61 at the Bren Events Center.
The Shockers (1–7) opened the game with energy, getting early scoring from , who poured in four quick points as WSU kept it close through most of the first quarter, but Idaho closed the period on 9-2 run before hit a buzzer beater three to end the quarter. The Vandals carried the first quarter momentum into a decisive 19-9 second quarter that created separation the Shockers couldn't erase.
