Shockers Drop Two in Lawrence

MATCH ONE

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Wichita State came up on the short end of a tightly contested first set and could not regain momentum as UNLV swept the Shockers 25-23, 25-15, 25-18 on Thursday afternoon at Horejsi Family Volleyball Arena.

The Shockers (3-3) trailed 19-15 late in the first set, but rallied to draw level at 23-23 on the strength of aces from Natalie Foster and Lily Liekweg combined with a pair of Lauren McMahon kills. The Rebels (6-1) answered back with a kill of their own from Jordyn Freeman, and then a Wichita State attack error gave UNLV a 25-23 opening set win.
