Shockers Claim Seven Event Titles at Prelude

WICHITA, Kan. – The Wichita State track and field team competed a partial squad at their home opener Thursday at the Heskett Center.

In the jumps, Chidera Okoro snagged the win in the triple jump with a personal-best leap of 11.85m/38-10.5 and Kenisa Meyer jumped a personal-best height of 1.52/4'11.75 to win the high jump.

"I'm really proud of Chidera," horizontal jumps coach Heidi Benton said. "She's a hard worker and it's good to see her hard work paying off. She red-shirted last year and was new to the event, so I'm excited about how her season is going to go from here.
