Shockers Claim American Athletic Conference Regular Season Crown

WICHITA—The Wichita State men's basketball team defeated USF, 80-63, on Saturday afternoon inside of Charles Koch Arena to clinch the American Athletic Conference regular season championship.

The Shockers clinch their first American Athletic Conference title. Wichita State is in its fourth season as a member of the league.

Wichita State clinches the No. 1 seed in the AAC Tournament next weekend.

The Shockers used a 25-7 run that lasted from the 3:38 mark of the first half until the 15:25 mark in the second half to put themselves ahead.

From that point on, Wichita State kept maintaining their distance and led by as many as 28 in the final half of play.
