WELLINGTON -- The Wichita State men's and women's golf teams opened play Tuesday in the 2020 Shocker Cup – a friendly intrasquad competition featuring players and coaches from both programs.
Two co-ed teams which will tackle three courses over three days using three different scoring formats.
Tuesday's rounds – played at Wellington Golf Club – saw teammates pair up for two-on-two match play competition. Partners alternated shots for 18 holes.
Wednesday's rounds will take place at Tallgrass County Club using a best-ball format. Thursday's finale at TarradyneCounty Club features head-to-head match-play.
The side captained by men's assistant Matt Walton has an early 4-2 lead over women's head coach Tom McCurdy's squad.
