BOISE, Idaho – Wichita State's second-half surge nearly erased a 15-point deficit, but the Shockers came up one possession short Tuesday night, falling 62-59 to Boise State at ExtraMile Arena.
Wichita State (3-1) held Boise State without a field goal for the final 3:13, trimming the margin to three twice in the closing seconds, but couldn't come up with the equalizer. After two Boise State missed free throws with 6.4 seconds left, the Shockers generated a clean look at the horn, but contested right-wing three bounced off the rim as time expired.
Trailing 50-35 with 12:20 to play, Wichita State mounted its best run of the night—an 8–0 burst sparked by a pull-up three from Gray.
