RH: Shockers Take Scoring Woes on Road

By Paul Suellentrop

Wichita State put itself in too big of a first-half hole with 15 points in 20 minutes. It trailed by 15 points on its way to a 54-41 defeat on Tuesday in Tampa, Fla.

The ugly numbers: Wichita State missed 21 of its 27 first-half shots, all eight from three-point range. It committed 11 turnovers and 15 fouls. USF made only 9 of 30 shots, but made 9 of 13 foul shots to lead 30-15.

The Shockers (8-10, 1-5 American Athletic Conference) missed open shots and shots in the lane early in the game and never recovered.
