RH: Shockers Pull Away in Fourth Quarter

By Paul Suellentrop

Wichita State trailed by one point entering the fourth quarter and a bad pass handed the basketball to East Carolina on the first possession.

That, however, was the last time the Shockers looked like a struggling team in the fourth quarter. Their next possession started a 16-2 run that lifted them to a 57-47 win over ECU on Tuesday at Koch Arena.

Wichita State (9-11, 2-5 American Athletic Conference) made six of its first eight shots in the fourth quarter and held the Pirates (10-10, 1-6) two baskets. With two wins in a row and another home game on Saturday, all of sudden, the Shockers don't feel like a team that's struggling.
