Sweeping Central Florida moved them into sole possession of second place. On Friday morning, the Shockers stood in a four-way tie for third, tied with three teams against which it lost series. Wednesday's 9-6 win over No. 19 Oklahoma State launched them into a pivotal weekend.
"We were saying 'This is our turning point, this is our turning point,'" second baseman Mauriana Jamele said.
