For two-plus years, Wichita State volleyball coach Chris Lamb referred to Brooklyn Leggett's path from NCAA Division II redshirt to Shocker starter by saying some version of, "If I can't find a ball for her to hit, I'm not doing my job."
As Leggett, a senior right-side, nears the end of her career it is clear Lamb found many volleyballs for her to hit. Most important, Lamb and his coaches restored the confidence that she could be the type of athlete who can power the offense.
"She felt like she had a point to prove," said teammate Emerson Wilford.
