Pohto Wins First AAC Freshman of the Week Honor

Wichita State's Kenny Pohto was named American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week for Nov. 22-28 and Tyson Etienne earned a second-consecutive nod to the league's weekly honor roll.

The 6-foot-11 freshman forward out of Stockholm, Sweden contributed 10 points and seven rebounds in just 16 minutes to help the Shockers secure a road victory at Mizzou on Friday.

It was the second straight double-figure scoring game for Pohto, who is averaging 7.2 points for the year.

Etienne -- a 6-foot-2 sophomore guard out of Englewood, N.J. -- scored 13 of his game-high 18 points in the second half on Friday.
