COLLEGE STATION, Texas—Michael Bryan kicked off the NCAA West Regional with an NCAA-qualifying performance in the men's hammer throw on Wednesday at E.B. Cushing Stadium.
Bryan had one legal mark in the men's hammer throw, which is all he needed to qualify for the NCAA Championships in June. He threw the hammer 66.30m/217-6 to earn ninth place and a ticket to Eugene, Oregon.
"Michael has truly fashioned together one of the special seasons in the history of Shocker Track and Field," said Director of Track and Field Steve Rainbolt. "Qualifying for the NCAA finals in Eugene is another major accomplishment in a year full of major accomplishments.
