ARLINGTON, Texas – Katie Malone collected her fifth win of the weekend, defeating Nicholls State, 5-0 and throwing a two-hit complete game shutout to complete the Shockers perfect weekend.
Laurie Derrico led the way with two hits and three RBI, including a two-run home run in the sixth inning. Mackenzie Wright and Kelli Spring also collected two hits on the day.
The Shockers scored early on the final day, scoring one run in the first after Spring singled with one out. She then advanced to second on a wild pitch and later scored on a single from Derrico.
