Junior college prospect Jaykwon Walton commits to WSU

Jaykwon Walton became the latest player to transfer to Wichita State on Thursday morning, announcing his commitment on social media. Walton is now the eighth player to commit to WSU this offseason and the first from the junior college level.

Walton is a former four-star recruit out of high school and played his first two seasons of college at Georgia. There, Walton saw limited playing time and scored a combined 17 across the two seasons. Walton then opted to transfer to Shelton State Community College and averaged 12.9 points and 4.2 rebounds per game this past season.

Walton had previously committed to Mississippi State, but de-committed after the Bulldogs fired their head coach, Ben Howland.
