FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Wichita State's Mercy Jepkoech recorded her third top-10 finish of the season Saturday morning at the Chile Pepper Festival at Agri Park.
The freshman from Eldoret, Kenya ran 16:54.2 in the 5K to finish 10th, finishing ahead of all other American Conference runners, including athletes from UAB, North Texas and Rice.
Landen O'Neill was Wichita State's top finisher in the men's 8K race, running 25:51.5 to finish 109th.
Arkansas swept the individual titles and won the men's team title, while Texas claimed the team win for the women.
