MISSION HILLS, Kan. – Wichita State men's golf student-athlete Gage Ihrig won the 107th Kansas Amateur Match Play Championship on Sunday, July 23. He won 4 and 2 in the 36-hole final, which was played at the Kansas City Country Club.
Ihrig, from Goodland, Kan., led the entire final. His back-to-back birdies on the 30th and 31st holes were part of four birdies on the back 18.
"I tried not to think about the lead too much. I just tried to keep hitting shots like I had all week, just one shot at a time," Ihrig said.
