Ihrig Named KGA Golfer of the Year

WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State men's golfer Gage Ihrig has been named the 2017 Kansas Golf Association Golfer of the Year.

The senior from Goodland, Kan., became the first golfer in history to win both the KGA stroke play and match play amateur championships during a four-week stint in the middle of summer.

Ihrig won the 54-hole Kansas Stroke Play Championship at Sand Creek Station Golf Course in Newton, Kan., after posting an impressive come-from-behind victory, before defeated Oklahoma State golfer Sam Stevens at the Kansas City Country Club in the Match Play Amateur Championship.
