Thanks to a 5-game winning streak, including a road win at Cincinnati, No. 13 Wichita State is starting to generate more attention as a potential contender for a deep run in the NCAA tournament.
After calling WSU’s 76-72 victory over then-No. 5 Cincinnati, ESPN color commentator Fran Fraschilla is a believer in the Shockers.
“What impresses me is it doesn’t matter if they go into Evansville or Northern Iowa or Cincinnati, they are relentless defensively and on the glass,” Fraschilla said. “They are ruthlessly efficient offensively. They get the shots they want and it’s been a formula that has obviously worked for a very long time for coach Gregg Marshall.
